The pattern comes in a PDF file, and can be downloaded and printed from the computer.

The measurements can be adjusted with the straps on the backside, and are based on the top before wash.

Material

 

Suggested yarns:

 

Hand dyed mulberry silk from Thelma Steimann. The silk has a super soft quality, it’s fantastic yarn to work with and leaves a shiny and airy feeling to the garment. Approx 400m/100g in each skein.

or

 

Hand dyed fine organic merino from Thelma Steimann with a high twist, the yarn is 100% Organic merino wool. Approx 365m/100g in each skein. Wonderful and soft base to work with.

Circular needle 80/100 cm in 3 mm

2 x DPN for the strap

Tapestry needle for stitching the threads and sewing the edges on the opening of the back

2 x stitch markers

 

Tension gauge sample

 

Be sure to check your own tension before starting to knit.

Cast on 30 stitches and knit 40 rows on needles size 3 mm for a 10 x 10 cm sample. 

If tension measures too tight, change to a thicker needle.

If tension measures too wide, change to a thinner needle.

 

Good to know

 

The top is flat knitted from back and forth, with increase and decrease. The edges and hemline are stitched down from the backside. The strap is knitted with i-cord technique and threaded through the top after the top has been knitted and stitched.

 

Read the pattern through before you start your project.

 

The quantity of yarn required is based on an average , and is therefore an approximate number. The top can be knitted in any yarn that consists of the same thickness as given in the tension gauge.
